A New Chapter at Scanlon Creek
Scanlon Creek is home to the education programs of the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority. Every year, thousands of students visit this conservation area to learn, explore, and connect with the natural world. Beyond school groups, community members also visit Scanlon Creek to hike, relax, participate in our camps and programs, and enjoy the many benefits of time spent outdoors.
Now, we’re building something new.
Construction is underway on a new Nature Centre, with doors set to open in September 2026. The building has been thoughtfully designed to reflect sustainability, community, and respect for the land - values that guide our work and honour the traditional territories and connections of Indigenous Peoples in the Lake Simcoe watershed.

Have Your Say on the Scanlon Creek Nature Centre!
A new building brings new opportunity. Not just for our education programs, but for the entire Lake Simcoe Watershed community and beyond. That’s where you come in!
We’re looking for honest input as we shape what happens inside this new space.
Our 5-10 minute survey is the best way to contribute and shape the future of the Scanlon Creek Nature Centre. Your responses are anonymous unless you choose to share your contact info.
You can contribute to other tools below too. Share your ideas on our idea board, see construction updates and ask a question. We want to make it easy for everyone to share their thoughts. If there’s a way you’d prefer to give feedback or get involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Katie Biddie at k.biddie@lsrca.on.ca; we’d love to hear from you.
